In Loving Memory of Richard Martisch 🕊️

The Yellowstone County community is mourning the loss of Richard Martisch, a 67-year-old man from Shepherd, Montana, whose life came to a tragic end earlier this week. Richard, reported missing on Wednesday, was last seen on Monday when he left a residence near Shepherd with his dog. Sadly, he was found deceased on Thursday morning in the Ah Nei Recreation Area.

Authorities from the Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office worked diligently to locate Richard following his disappearance. The initial missing persons alert noted that he had known health and mental health issues. While his dog returned to the residence, Richard was still unaccounted for until the discovery at approximately 10:40 a.m. on Thursday. Sheriff Mike Linder has stated that the death is believed to have been accidental.

Richard’s passing is a heartbreaking loss for his family, friends, and the Shepherd community. At 67, he had experienced a life filled with stories, relationships, and memories that will now be cherished even more deeply by those who knew him. While the circumstances of his death are tragic, the focus remains on honoring his life and the impact he had on those around him.

In times like these, communities are reminded of the importance of compassion and support. Loved ones and neighbors are encouraged to come together to remember Richard, share their memories, and support one another through the grieving process. Even though he is no longer physically with us, his memory and the moments he shared with those around him will continue to live on in their hearts.

We extend our deepest condolences to Richard Martisch’s family and friends. May they find comfort in the love of family and community, and may Richard rest in peace, remembered for the life he lived and the presence he shared with others. 🕊️

Forever remembered. Forever missed.
