Homicide Investigation: Remembering Sean Street
A community is left grieving and searching for answers following the tragic and untimely death of Sean Street, a 38-year-old resident of Moreno Valley, whose life was lost on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, in a heartbreaking act of violence.
According to authorities, deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station responded at approximately 2:47 p.m. to a local hospital after receiving reports of a man who had been dropped off by a family member with severe injuries believed to be the result of an assault. Despite the urgent efforts of medical personnel, Sean Street succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased shortly after deputies arrived.
As investigators began piecing together the events leading up to this devastating loss, witness accounts directed deputies to the 14000 block of Big Horn Avenue in Moreno Valley, where the assault is believed to have taken place. The scene was quickly secured as law enforcement worked diligently to preserve evidence and understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Through the course of the investigation, authorities identified 37-year-old Brandon Thigpen, also of Moreno Valley, as the suspect. Deputies launched an immediate search and later located him within the city. He was taken into custody without incident, bringing a measure of relief to a shaken community. The case was then turned over to the Central Homicide Unit, which continues to lead the investigation.
Thigpen has since been booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside on a charge of murder. However, many questions remain unanswered as investigators continue their work to uncover the full details of what led to this tragic confrontation.
Sean Street’s passing is more than a case file—it is a profound loss of a human life, a son, a friend, and a member of the Moreno Valley community. Those who knew him are left to grapple with grief, remembering the person he was and the moments they shared. His life, like so many taken too soon, leaves behind a silence that cannot be filled.
This incident serves as a sobering reminder of how quickly lives can change and how acts of violence ripple far beyond those directly involved, affecting families, friends, and entire communities. In the wake of this tragedy, there is a shared hope for justice, accountability, and healing.
Authorities are urging anyone who may have information related to this case to come forward. Even the smallest detail could prove crucial in ensuring that the full truth is brought to light. Individuals are encouraged to contact the Central Homicide Unit or the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station as the investigation remains active and ongoing.
As the community mourns, we remember Sean Street—not for the way his life ended, but for the life he lived. May his memory endure, and may those who loved him find strength in one another during this incredibly difficult time.
Justice is being pursued, but the loss is immeasurable.
