Preliminary investigations revealed that a southbound SUV attempted to pass another vehicle in a clearly marked no-passing zone. The driver of the southbound SUV was pronounced deceased at the scene. Inside the northbound SUV were members of the Bailey family. Their young daughter Lyla Bailey survived the crash and was airlifted for emergency medical treatment.
