In Loving Memory of Landyn W. Maupin

In Loving Memory of Landyn W. Maupin

With broken hearts and profound sorrow, we remember and honor the life of Landyn W. Maupin, of Anderson, whose life was tragically cut short in a devastating accident. Though his time on earth was far too brief, the love he gave, the memories he created, and the impact he had on those around him will endure forever.

Landyn was the unrestrained driver of a Tesla Model 3 traveling northbound on State Road 169 when his vehicle struck the rear of a parked semi tractor-trailer. Despite the swift response of first responders, he was pronounced deceased at the scene. The cause of death was determined to be multiple blunt impact injuries, and the manner of death has been ruled accidental. Authorities have stated that speed and unsafe passing were primary contributing factors in the crash.

The news of Landyn’s passing has sent waves of grief through his family, friends, and the broader community.  Landyn stood on the threshold of adulthood, full of potential, promise, and dreams yet to be realized. His life, though short, was meaningful. He was someone’s beloved son, a cherished family member, a loyal friend, and a young man whose presence could light up a room.

Landyn’s laughter, his personality, and the way he connected with others will be remembered by all who knew him. He was part of a generation with bright ambitions and boundless energy — a young man navigating his path in the world, learning, growing, and striving toward his future. Those closest to him will forever hold onto the everyday moments — the conversations, the shared smiles, the simple times that now mean everything.

The Huntington County Coroner’s Office extended their deepest sympathies to the Maupin family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. The coroner’s office was assisted by the Huntington County Sheriff’s Office, Markle Police Department, Mt. Etna Fire Department, Warren Fire Department, Huntington Central Dispatch, Huntington County Traffic Team, and Parkview Huntington Hospital EMS. Campbell Wrecker and Parker Wrecker Services assisted with the removal of the vehicles involved. The investigation was conducted by Deputy Brock Woodward of the Huntington County Sheriff’s Office, along with Coroner Philip Zahm and Deputy Coroner Doug.

While official reports detail the circumstances of the accident, they cannot capture the depth of loss felt by those who loved Landyn. Behind every headline is a human life — a young man with a story, a family who adored him, and friends who now struggle to comprehend his absence.

In moments like these, we are reminded of how fragile life can be. We are reminded to hold our loved ones close, to cherish every conversation, every embrace, and every opportunity to say “I love you.” Landyn’s passing also serves as a solemn reminder of the importance of road safety — of making careful decisions, of slowing down, and of recognizing that a single moment can change countless lives forever.

To his family, no words can truly ease the pain of losing a son. To his friends, the empty space he leaves behind will be deeply felt. But in the midst of grief, there is also gratitude — gratitude for the 20 years they were blessed to share with him, for the joy he brought into their lives, and for the memories that will never fade.

Landyn’s story does not end here. It lives on in the hearts of those who speak his name, who carry forward his spirit, and who honor him by living with greater care and compassion.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
May his memory be a blessing.
And may those who mourn him find comfort in knowing that love never dies.
