The San Luis community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 28-year-old Andres Ramirez, a young life full of promise and potential, whose life was tragically cut short in a fatal collision on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Ramirez, a resident of San Luis, Arizona, was involved in a two-vehicle accident on SR195 near milepost 8 that claimed his life, leaving family, friends, and the local community in profound grief.
According to the San Luis Police Department, officers responded to the scene at approximately 7:23 a.m. After preliminary investigation, authorities determined that an unrelated collision at milepost 9 had caused significant traffic congestion, creating a slow-moving traffic situation. During this slowdown, a black 2023 BMW SUV traveling eastbound lost control and struck Ramirez, who was riding a 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle. Both vehicles ultimately left the roadway and came to rest on the dirt median.
Despite the rapid response and emergency care provided by local medical personnel, Ramirez succumbed to his injuries at Onvida Health in Yuma. Authorities have confirmed that no other serious injuries occurred during the incident, and initial findings indicate that neither speed nor alcohol appeared to be contributing factors in the crash.
