SCHAGHTICOKE, N.Y. — The community of Schaghticoke and the family and friends of Robert Koenig, 45, of Johnsonville, are grieving the sudden and tragic loss of a life full of warmth, dedication, and spirit. Robert was killed in a motorcycle crash on State Route 40 on the morning of February 28, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, friendship, and a love for life that will not be forgotten.
According to New York State Police, Robert was riding his motorcycle northbound on State Route 40 around 7:40 a.m. when his vehicle collided with a Subaru Impreza. The driver of the Subaru was attempting a left turn to go southbound when the crash occurred. Robert was declared deceased at the scene. Investigators have stated that the crash remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed against the driver of the Subaru.
Robert was much more than the circumstances of this tragic event. Those who knew him remember a man with a vibrant personality and a generous heart.
