In Loving Memory of Ronald Kinnamon 🕊️
With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, the community of Richfield Township is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Ronald Kinnamon, an innocent 8-month-old child whose life was tragically cut short following a serious traffic collision Thursday afternoon north of Davison.
According to the Richfield Township Police Department, the incident occurred around 3:45 p.m. along M-15. Authorities say a 29-year-old woman from Richfield Township was driving a Jeep Patriot with her three young children inside the vehicle. She had been waiting to make a left turn onto Clark Road when a Chevrolet utility truck, driven by a 49-year-old man from Taylor, struck the SUV from behind.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene and immediately transported the driver and her three young children — ages 4, 2, and 8 months — to Hurley Medical Center with severe injuries. Despite the lifesaving efforts of medical professionals, baby Ronald Kinnamon was tragically pronounced deceased.
The two older children remained hospitalized early Friday, reported to be in critical but stable condition, while their mother also remained hospitalized as doctors continued to monitor her condition. The driver of the truck sustained only minor injuries and was treated at the scene before being released.
Investigators with the Davison Area Reconstruction Team are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision. Preliminary findings indicate that the driver of the truck was not believed to be intoxicated at the time of the incident, though the investigation remains ongoing.
While authorities work to determine the details of what happened, the heartbreaking loss of Ronald Kinnamon has left an entire community grieving. At only eight months old, Ronald was just beginning his journey in life — a precious child whose smile, innocence, and presence brought love and joy to those around him. Though his time on earth was short, the love surrounding him was immeasurable.
For his family, Ronald was a cherished son and baby brother. He was a little light in their lives, a child whose giggles, tiny hands, and bright eyes filled their home with happiness. The memories of his early milestones, the warmth of his presence, and the love he shared will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
Moments like this remind communities of just how fragile and precious life truly is. In the wake of this tragedy, friends, neighbors, and loved ones across Richfield Township are coming together to support Ronald’s family, offering prayers, comfort, and compassion during a time of unimaginable grief.
As the investigation continues, many are choosing to focus on remembering Ronald not for the tragedy that took him, but for the love and joy he brought into the world during his brief time here.
Though his life lasted only a few short months, Ronald Kinnamon’s memory will live on forever in the hearts of his family and everyone touched by his story. His tiny life leaves behind a powerful reminder of love, innocence, and the deep bond that connects families.
🕊️ Rest peacefully, sweet Ronald Kinnamon.
You were loved beyond measure, and though you were taken far too soon, your light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who will forever cherish you.
