Suspect in Deadly Hawaii Island Crash Had Long History of Traffic Violations
HAWAII ISLAND, Hawaii — Court records have revealed a lengthy history of traffic infractions for the man authorities say was responsible for a deadly crash on Hawaii Island Thursday.
Police have identified the suspect as 43-year-old Kimo Medeiros of Kurtistown. According to officials, Medeiros’ most recent citation was issued just three days before the fatal incident — for driving without a license.
Records indicate that Medeiros had accumulated multiple traffic-related offenses over the years, including violations for speeding and operating a vehicle without proper documentation.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, which resulted in at least one fatality. Police have not yet confirmed whether charges will be filed in connection with the deadly collision.
